Dire Dawa Appoints Abdullahi Aden Yusuf as New Mayor

Dire Dawa’s city council convened to open a new term and officially appointed Abdullahi Aden Yusuf as the city's new mayor. The council voted unanimously in favor of the leadership change during its session last Friday. Abdullahi Aden Yusuf takes over the office from Kedir Juhar, who had been serving as Mayor of Dire Dawa since September 2021. Following the vote, Kedir Juhar transitioned from his position as mayor to become the deputy to his successor. The administrative transition marks a significant reshuffle in Dire Dawa's regional government administration as the new council term begins.
