The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters on Menelik II Avenue, originally designed by Zalman Enav and Michael Tedros, is set for renovation. While the Ministry has initiated the bidding process for contractors, it has declined to disclose the specific scope or financial cost of the project. Architectural experts, including Marshet Mengistu, are urging officials to proceed with caution to avoid damaging the building's distinct character. There is concern that rushing the modernization process could result in the loss of its historical architectural value. A sister building is also currently undergoing renovation alongside this new initiative.
