Addis Ababa City Administration Introduces Fees for Tender Documents

The Addis Ababa City Administration has implemented a new payment requirement for downloading public tender documents. Following a one-year pilot phase where documents were provided free of charge, the city's electronic government procurement (e-GP) platform has introduced mandatory fees. The costs are set at 200 Birr for "operational" procurements, 500 Birr for "strategic" procurements, and 2,000 Birr for "framework" agreements. This directive was issued last week by Eyasu Mersea, the director of the Finance Administration Directorate at the Finance Bureau. All payments are required to be processed through the Telebirr digital payment system.
