Ethiopian Airlines to resume Addis–Mekelle flights on Sunday

Ethiopian Airlines has announced the resumption of commercial flight services between Addis Ababa and Mekelle starting this Sunday. This decision follows significant security developments in the region, including the withdrawal of TPLF forces and the entry of Ethiopian National Defense Force troops alongside Tigray Peace Forces. Despite this positive development for Mekelle, commercial air services to other key cities in Tigray, specifically Shire and Axum, remain suspended. The airline has not yet provided a specific timeline for when those particular routes will be reinstated.
