Ethiopia Receives Modern Su-35 Fighter Jets from Russia
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced during the Russia-Africa summit that Ethiopia has received 12 modern Su-35 fighter jets from Russia. These jets, classified as '4++ generation,' make Ethiopia the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa to operate them. Additionally, the Prime Minister stated that the country will receive four S-400 air defense system batteries in the future. Abiy expressed gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for expediting the delivery by one year. Military experts suggest that these acquisitions will significantly enhance the Ethiopian Air Force's capabilities and serve as critical tools for national defense.
