Harry Kane wins 2026 Ballon d'Or
Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, making history for his country and club. The 33-year-old is the first Englishman to win the award since 2001 and the first Bayern Munich player to do so since 1981. During the previous season, Kane scored 61 goals in 51 matches for his club, a record for a single season in Bayern Munich's history. At the awards ceremony held in London—the first time it was hosted outside of France—Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé finished second, while Barcelona's Lamine Yamal came in third. Despite not winning major team trophies like the Champions League or World Cup last season, Kane was honored for his prolific individual performance, which included 73 total goals when factoring in international appearances.
