Jawar Mohammed: Drone Technology Has Transformed Warfare Dynamics in Northern Ethiopia

Political analyst Jawar Mohammed states that the use of advanced drone technology by the Ethiopian government has significantly shifted the dynamics of the conflict in Northern Ethiopia. These drones have allowed federal forces to gain air and ground superiority, effectively dismantling previous defensive positions held by TPLF forces in difficult mountainous terrain. Government control has been re-established in several areas, including Mekelle, and Ethiopian Airlines has resumed flights. The report also highlights rising tensions involving the reported presence of Eritrean troops in Northern Ethiopia, leading to localized confrontations. This development marks the first time in six years that the federal government has fully asserted such control in the region.
