Federal Government Establishes Caretaker Administration in Tigray
The Ethiopian federal government has established a 'Caretaker Government' (Mootummaa Imaanaa) in the Tigray region, following the conclusion of recent armed conflicts. The new administration is mandated to govern for a period of six months until a democratically elected government can be formed. Key priorities include restoring public order, reconstructing damaged infrastructure, facilitating the return of displaced persons, and preparing the region for free and fair elections. The government stated that the military operations against TPLF have concluded, paving the way for this new political transition.
