Prominent Rwandan critic Robert Kabera found dead in Uganda
Robert Kabera, a former Rwandan soldier and vocal critic of President Paul Kagame, has been found dead in neighboring Uganda. The 50-year-old had fled Rwanda after facing sexual assault charges, which he maintained were politically motivated due to his opposition to the government. Ugandan police confirmed the incident but noted that Kabera's head has not yet been recovered. The Rwandan government has yet to comment on the killing. Kabera was a well-known YouTuber with over 144,000 subscribers, frequently using his platform to criticize the Kagame administration. The Rwanda National Congress (RNC), an opposition group, has called for a thorough investigation, highlighting the growing fear among exiled Rwandan dissidents following a series of similar historical incidents involving high-profile critics.
