Woman sexually abused by trusted partner while recovering from illness

Adele Overton, who was battling cancer and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, revealed she was sexually abused by her partner of 13 years, Steven Uden. Uden, who was initially viewed as a kind and supportive caregiver while she was ill, admitted to the abuse after five years in 2025, during a time when he himself was suffering from bowel cancer. Overton recalls being betrayed after discovering him violating her while she was asleep or incapacitated, noting that his behavior was far more sinister than she initially believed. Uden is currently in prison, and Overton has decided to share her traumatic experience publicly to serve as a warning and lesson for others.
