Overview of Six Years of Political Turmoil and Administrative Changes in Tigray
This article analyzes the recurring political turmoil and administrative instability in Tigray over the past six years, marked by war, sieges, and failed political agreements. Since 2020, the region has been governed by six different administrations, all of which struggled with unresolved issues regarding legitimacy, military control, and territorial integrity. It concludes by detailing how these constitutional and political disagreements escalated into a full-scale war in November 2020, leading to the federal government's intervention and the appointment of an interim administration under Dr. Mulu Nega.
