Hibret Bank Begins Construction on 26-Storey Headquarters Expansion

Hibret Bank has launched the construction of a 26-storey expansion to its existing headquarters, Hibir Tower, located in the Senga Tera area of Addis Ababa. According to the Bank’s CEO, Nigusse Gebre Egziabher, the project aims to diversify the bank's revenue streams and enhance shareholder returns. The design allocates 30% of the space for residential apartments, while the remainder will serve as commercial shops, offices, and parking facilities. The architectural consultancy is led by Eskinder Webetu, known for designing the Adwa 00KM Museum, and construction is being carried out by Dugda Construction. The bank has not yet disclosed the total project cost or the projected completion timeline for the expansion.
