PM Abiy Reviews Ethiopia’s Progress Toward Nuclear Energy Development

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has reviewed Ethiopia's progress in developing nuclear energy, emphasizing its role in the nation's long-term industrialization and economic transformation. The Prime Minister stated that nuclear technology is essential for strengthening energy security and supporting sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing. He highlighted that Ethiopia's next developmental chapter focuses on converting vast natural resources into tangible technological advancements. The Ethiopian Nuclear Energy Commission is currently tasked with building the institutional and technical foundations for this initiative. Abiy stressed that the development of nuclear energy must be conducted in a peaceful, safe, and responsible manner, with a strong focus on building scientific research and local expertise.
