Ethiopia Celebrates 119th Defense Forces Day

Ethiopia celebrated the 119th FDRE Defense Forces Day at the Armed Forces General Headquarters in Addis Ababa under the theme “Army of Victory.” Defense Minister Aisha Mohamed praised the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) as a pillar of public trust and a guardian of national sovereignty against internal and external threats. The event was attended by Chief of General Staff Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, top military officials, diplomats, and invited guests. Officials highlighted the military’s role in protecting borders, maintaining regional peace, and its growing operational capability. The annual commemoration, dating back to the appointment of the first War Minister on Tikimt 15, 1900 E.C., serves to honor the sacrifices made by generations of military personnel in defense of the nation.
