Ethiopia Receives 12 Su-35 Fighter Jets
Ethiopia has officially received 12 Russian-made Su-35 (4.5th generation) fighter jets. The delivery took place one year ahead of schedule following an order by Russian President Vladimir Putin. These multirole fighter jets, known by NATO as "Flanker-E," are considered highly advanced, capable of air-to-air combat and striking ground targets.
The jets feature a top speed of 2,400 km/h and a combat range of up to 3,600 km. Equipped with the Irbis-E PESA radar, they can track up to 30 targets simultaneously. They possess a payload capacity of 8,000 kg, including advanced missiles and guided bombs, and feature sophisticated electronic warfare systems like the Khibiny-M to neutralize enemy radar and communications.
