Wondwossen Bekele, founder of the Matiwos Wondwossen Foundation, has passed away

Wondwossen Bekele, founder and CEO of the Matiwos Wondwossen Foundation, has passed away after battling cancer for one year and ten months. He died on September 24, 2019 E.C., and his funeral took place on September 25, 2019 E.C., at Bole Debre Mihret St. Michael Church.

Mr. Wondwossen established the foundation 22 years ago after losing his child to leukemia in 1996 E.C., dedicating his life to saving others. Before his passing, he was working on the "Healthy Africa Center of Excellence" project, aimed at tackling non-communicable diseases in Ethiopia and across Africa. The foundation has called for support to complete this vision.
