House of Peoples' Representatives Discusses Reorganization and Renaming of Executive Bodies
The 7th House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia discussed a draft proclamation defining the names, structure, powers, and duties of federal executive organs during its 1st extraordinary session. According to the explanations presented to the parliament, the total number of federal ministry offices will remain at 22, with no change in total count. However, structural adjustments involve name changes for two ministries and the newly restructured establishment of two others. Specifically, the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Tourism are restructured, while the Ministry of Planning and Development is renamed the Ministry of National Strategy, and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics becomes the Ministry of Logistics. Authorities stated that these organizational revisions aim to enhance operational efficiency and better align the executive institutions with their key national missions.
