Road closure announced in Kera area for BRT construction

The Addis Ababa Road Authority has announced a total closure of the right side of the road from Kera traffic light towards Mexico, effective from October 13, 2026 (Tikimt 3, 2019 E.C.), for the construction of the BRT B2 bus line. To manage traffic flow, drivers are advised to use alternative routes through Kirkos Church or via Sarbet towards the African Union. Conversely, the lane from Mexico to Kera has been temporarily opened for traffic. The authority explicitly stated that parking, whether short or long term, is strictly prohibited on this route to ensure smooth traffic movement.
