Ato Tariku Demise Appointed Acting CEO of Ethio Telecom

The Ethio Telecom Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Ato Tariku Demise as the Acting CEO of the institution, effective from October 16, 2019 (Ethiopian Calendar). The Board Chair, Frehiwot Tamiru, stated that this leadership transition is critical to ensure the continuity of the company's three-year strategic plan, titled 'Next Horizon, Digital and Beyond 2028.'

Beyond managing daily operations, Ato Tariku is tasked with overseeing the effective implementation of the strategic plan and maintaining service quality. Previously, Frehiwot Tamiru served as the CEO of Ethio Telecom before being appointed as the Minister of Innovation and Technology by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The Board has expressed confidence that Ato Tariku will strengthen the company's competitiveness in collaboration with staff and key stakeholders.
