Tigray Peace Force comments on regional security and Eritrean troop presence

Mengisteab Tesfay, head of media and communication for the Tigray Peace Force, stated that security conditions in the Tigray region are improving, with towns returning to peaceful activities. He noted that former TPLF fighters are in the process of disarmament and reintegration.

However, he emphasized that Eritrean forces remain present along the border areas of the Tigray region. According to the official, many TPLF leaders and fighters have fled toward the Eritrean border, while hidden weapons caches, including drones purchased with public funds, are being recovered across various locations in the region.
