Former TPLF headquarters converted into government office

The building in Mekelle, which served as the TPLF's headquarters for over 30 years near the Martyrs' Memorial, has been converted into the "Tigray Peace and Security Bureau." During the 2013 conflict, the building briefly served as the Prosperity Party's office. Tigray peace force leaders stated that the building, previously treated as private property, has now been returned to public use.

Simultaneously, the Tigray peace force has ordered high-ranking TPLF cadres to report to their local police stations between October 25 and October 29, 2026. The authorities warned that any cadre who fails to report within this timeframe will be held personally responsible for subsequent legal consequences.
