First Phase of Mojo Logistics Center Expansion Inaugurated
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has officially inaugurated the first phase of a modern logistics center expansion built on 60 hectares in Mojo. The facility is equipped with modern warehouses and stations capable of handling up to 1 million 20-foot containers annually. To enhance operational efficiency, Ethiopia's first rail-mounted crane has been installed at the center to expedite container transfers to and from the railway network. The center's operations are fully integrated with modern digital infrastructure, facilitating fast and reliable services for clients. By enabling local packaging of dry bulk goods, the project aims to save foreign currency and generate local employment opportunities. Furthermore, the center forms part of the 'DESU' corridor, which connects Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda alongside the Ethio-Djibouti railway line. The Prime Minister emphasized that this development will significantly enhance Ethiopia's standing in global logistics and advance the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
