Dr. Abraham Belay Appointed as Commissioner of Ethiopian Nuclear Power Commission

The Office of the Prime Minister has announced that former Minister of Irrigation and Lowlands, Dr. Abraham Belay, has been appointed as the Commissioner of the Ethiopian Nuclear Power Commission by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed. According to the official statement, Dr. Abraham was assigned to lead the institution starting from Meskerem 14, 2019 E.C. He succeeds the commission's first commissioner, Ato Sadokan Debebe, who was appointed when the body was established by the Council of Ministers on Tikimt 4, 2018 E.C. Throughout his public service career, Dr. Abraham Belay has held multiple key ministerial portfolios, including Minister of Defense, Minister of Innovation and Technology, and most recently Minister of Irrigation and Lowland Areas.
