Ethiopia orders Egyptian diplomat to leave country within 48 hours

The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared Ahmed Maharam Ahmed Soliman, a diplomat at the Egyptian Embassy in Addis Ababa, persona non grata. The ministry has ordered the diplomat to leave Ethiopian territory within 48 hours. In an official diplomatic communication sent to the Egyptian Embassy, the government stated that the decision was made in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. The order was issued on Meskerem 21, 2017 E.C. (October 1, 2024), requiring the immediate departure of the individual.
