Addis Ababa City Administration Transfers Health Sector Powers to Health Bureau

The Addis Ababa City Council has amended the powers and duties of city administrative organs regarding the health sector. Under the new directive, the responsibility for issuing and renewing competency certificates for health facilities and professional licenses for health workers has been transferred to the Addis Ababa Health Bureau. Additionally, the Bureau will now oversee functions related to medical malpractice and the enforcement of health professional ethics. This administrative shift aims to centralize and streamline the regulation of medical services within the capital city.
