OFC Criticizes Federal and Oromia Governments Over Moyale Conflict
The Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC) has criticized the federal government and the Oromia regional administration over the ongoing ethnic violence in Moyale and the Borana zone. In a statement, the party condemned the incursions by armed groups from the Somali region and attempts to change administrative boundaries by force. Reports indicate that at least nine people were killed in last week's clashes, with around 30 injured and over 10,000 residents fleeing into Kenya. The OFC denounced the federal government's silence on the crisis and held the regional administration accountable for failing to ensure the safety of its citizens. The party has called for an immediate cessation of the violence and for an independent investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
