Tanzania Interested in Adopting Ethiopia's AI-Assisted Tribunal Hearing Technologies

A Tanzanian delegation visited Ethiopia's Capital Market Administrative Tribunal to study the country's integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into legal proceedings. During the visit, the delegation explored how Ethiopia utilizes AI for transcribing spoken proceedings into written records, a system currently achieving 87 percent accuracy, and discussed plans to further refine this with the Artificial Intelligence Institute of Ethiopia.

The delegation also toured key financial institutions, including the Ethiopian Securities Exchange and the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, to understand Ethiopia's institutional framework. Tanzanian officials expressed interest in adopting similar technological solutions, such as electronic complaint filing and virtual hearings, to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of their own tribunal processes.
