PM Abiy Ahmed Issues Strong Warning Regarding Eritrean Administration
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, in a recent interview with national television, warned the Eritrean government (PFDJ) to cease its destructive activities. The Prime Minister stated that the regime has become a tool for Ethiopia's enemies, hindering Eritrea's development and prosperity. Comparing Eritrea's economic standing before and after independence, he noted that major cities like Asmara, Massawa, and Assab have significantly declined, with the Eritrean people facing hardship and migration.
PM Abiy emphasized that Eritrea's problems cannot be solved by foreign forces merely providing ammunition, as these actors fail to solve their own internal issues. He urged the Eritrean government to prioritize being a development partner rather than a proxy for adversaries. He warned that ignoring this call for peace and neighborly relations, which have proven beneficial over the past 35 years, would lead to severe consequences for the regime.
