8 Killed in Tragic Traffic Accident in Addis Ababa

A tragic traffic accident in the Gulele sub-city of Addis Ababa on October 31, 2024 (Tikimt 21, 2019 E.C.) resulted in the deaths of eight people. The incident occurred when a minibus traveling from Kuyyu to Qechenie veered off course, hitting and killing a pedestrian before colliding with a water tanker. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of seven passengers inside the minibus, bringing the total death toll to eight. Addis Ababa Police confirmed that 11 other individuals sustained various injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. The minibus driver is also injured and receiving care. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident and urged all drivers to strictly adhere to road safety regulations.
