Kore Zone Official Denies West Guji Zone Allegations

Kore Zone Communication Head Ato Ashabir Gezu has denied allegations from West Guji Zone officials claiming that the Kore Zone serves as a logistics hub for the OLA (Shane). Ato Ashabir stated these claims are false and deeply disrespectful to the local population suffering from ongoing violence. He explained that the security vacuum in the area widened after federal defense forces were redeployed to the north, leaving civilians vulnerable. He highlighted the historical and blood ties between the people of Guji and Kore, emphasizing that they are victims of the same armed groups. Ato Ashabir urged the Oromia and South Ethiopia regional states, along with the federal government, to intervene collectively to restore peace and security in the border areas.
