UK Condemns Ongoing Attacks by Tigray Forces

The United Kingdom has strongly condemned the attacks carried out by Tigray forces in Afar and southern Tigray, as well as the seizure of airports in the region. Senior UK official Christian McNeil stated that the Ethiopian people cannot endure a return to war and urged for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

The UK has called on all parties to return to AU-led talks and warned of the severe impact the conflict could have on women and children. Furthermore, the UK clarified that it does not support the regime-change goals of the 'Tebibber Lehiluna' coalition, emphasizing the need for peaceful political solutions and calling for unhindered humanitarian access and the protection of aid workers.
