Vehicle Movement Restrictions Announced in Bishoftu for Irreecha Festival

The Oromia Police has announced road closures and vehicle movement restrictions in preparation for the Hora Harsadi Irreecha festival in Bishoftu. From September 22 to September 24, 2019 E.C., all cargo vehicles are prohibited from entering Addis Ababa.

Consequently, designated stopping points for cargo trucks have been established in the towns of Chancho, Fiche, Sheno, Sendafa, Holeta, and Waliso. Vehicles traveling via Adama are restricted to using the expressway only. Additionally, the police ordered that bajajs and taxis within Bishoftu must remain parked starting from the morning of September 23, and public transport vehicles are required to use only the designated parking areas provided for the festival.
