Sudan accuses Ethiopia again of involvement in drone strikes
The Sudanese government has again accused Ethiopia of facilitating drone strikes targeting electricity infrastructure, fuel depots, and civil facilities within Sudan. Sudan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Muawiya Osman Khalid, stated that these strikes, occurring in Khartoum, Al-Jazeera, Blue Nile, Sennar, and Al-Qadarif, originated from across the Ethiopian border, citing evidence from intelligence and satellite data. Sudanese officials further alleged that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is also complicit in these actions.
Khalid emphasized Sudan's right to self-defense and called on the international community to intervene. To date, neither Ethiopia nor the UAE has responded to these renewed allegations. Previously, when similar accusations were made in May, the Ethiopian government dismissed them as "baseless," stating that it chooses to maintain restraint to preserve historical ties between the two peoples, while also noting that it faces security challenges due to the ongoing conflict within Sudan.
