EU Special Representative Annette Weber Concludes Ethiopia Visit

Annette Weber, the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, has concluded her official visit to Ethiopia. During her stay, she engaged in discussions regarding regional peace with representatives from the Ethiopian government, the African Union, and other partners. As part of these diplomatic efforts, Getachew Reda, the Prime Minister's advisor on East African affairs, met with Weber and the EU Ambassador to Ethiopia, Sophie. During the meeting, Getachew highlighted the destabilizing actions of the regime in Asmara and its backers, warning of the severe consequences if timely action is not taken. Both parties agreed to coordinate efforts to prevent the escalation of regional tensions. Following these discussions, Weber returned to Brussels to brief the EU's Political and Security Committee (PSC) on the current situation in Ethiopia and the wider region.
