Lives lost in attacks in Gambella city

Lives have been lost following a series of attacks in Gambella city over the past two days. The Medical Director of Gambella Hospital, Dr. Mak Aujulu, confirmed that five people have died due to the incidents. Some victims were attacked while in their homes, and residents suggest the violence may be linked to acts of reprisal.

Among the casualties, three individuals arrived at the hospital already dead from gunshot wounds, while another died while receiving treatment. Additionally, an elderly woman succumbed to stab wounds before reaching the hospital. There are fears the death toll may rise as more victims receive care. The Regional Police Commission has declined to provide detailed information on the security situation at this time.
