Holy Synod Plenary Meeting Convenes

The Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has officially convened its plenary meeting. In his opening address, Patriarch Abune Mathias emphasized that the assembly will focus on addressing systemic issues within church administration, asset management, and evangelical missions. He specifically noted the need for sustainable solutions to shortcomings in human resource management and operational practices across both domestic and international dioceses.

Furthermore, the Patriarch highlighted the Church's responsibility in fostering national peace. He urged church leaders to go beyond prayer and actively engage in mediation, reconciliation, and arbitration to help alleviate the suffering and anxiety facing the Ethiopian people. The Synod plans to discuss these efforts and issue a formal call for peace to relevant stakeholders.
