Civilians Killed in Attack by Armed Groups in Kore Zone

In the Kore Zone of South Ethiopia Region, specifically in Jalo and Kore kebeles of Gorka woreda, armed groups launched an attack resulting in the death of innocent farmers and a 14-year-old child. Three others sustained injuries during the incident. The Kore Zone administration officially condemned the attack, stating that the perpetrators came from the direction of West Guji Zone.

Kore Zone Peace and Security official Melku Mersha confirmed the attack occurred today. Local residents expressed profound grief, noting that they are frequently subjected to such violence, with some claiming they were burying victims from yesterday when news of today's killings arrived. The Kore Zone administration has called on the West Guji Zone authorities to expose the criminals and bring them to justice, while urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces.
