Former Tigray university students permitted to register for transfers online

The Ministry of Education has announced that students previously enrolled in universities in the Tigray region can now register for transfers to other higher education institutions online, eliminating the need to travel to Addis Ababa. This decision follows severe overcrowding at the Ministry's offices due to students arriving in person, and acknowledges the financial challenges many students faced in traveling. Minister of Education Professor Berhanu Nega and State Minister Professor Kindeya Gebrehiwot personally informed students of this change.

As of last Thursday, over 2,808 students had registered, with an additional 1,500 students arriving in person on Monday alone. The registration link will be released on the Ministry's official channels. Professor Kindeya stated that universities are preparing to begin the academic term, and therefore the transfer placement process will be finalized soon.
