PM Abiy Inaugurates Megech Dam Project

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has officially inaugurated the Megech Dam project, which had faced implementation delays for several years. The dam boasts a storage capacity of 185 million cubic meters and is designed to irrigate over 17,000 hectares of farmland, benefiting tens of thousands of local farmers.

In addition to its agricultural impact, the dam will provide a reliable supply of clean drinking water to Gondar and surrounding towns. The Prime Minister attributed the completion of the project to the 'Medemer' philosophy and emphasized that Gondar requires further development, urging the public to participate actively. The project is expected to stimulate the local economy through fisheries, urban agriculture, and tourism.
