Thailand Replaces Visa-on-Arrival Policy for Ethiopian Citizens with E-Visa Requirement

The government of Thailand has implemented a new visa policy, revising its visa-free entry and visa-on-arrival eligibility list for several countries. According to an announcement from the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi citing Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visa-on-arrival service previously available to Ethiopian travelers has been discontinued. Under the new regulation, Ethiopian citizens are required to secure an entry visa prior to their departure from Ethiopia. Travel applicants must apply online through the official portal at thaievisa.go.th. Travelers will only be permitted entry into Thailand after their online applications have been formally approved. Consequently, all Ethiopians planning to travel to Thailand must obtain their visa in advance.
