Getachew Reda Accuses Eritrea of Utilizing Armed Groups to Destabilize the Region
Getachew Reda, former President of the Tigray Interim Administration and current advisor to the Prime Minister, has accused the Eritrean government of collaborating with Egypt to destabilize the East African region. In an interview with "Pulse of Africa," he stated that instead of engaging directly in war, Eritrea is using various armed groups, including Fano, OLA (Shane), and the TPLF, as tools to ignite conflicts across the region.
He particularly highlighted that the alliance between the TPLF and Eritrea poses a significant danger to the people of Tigray and Amhara. Getachew emphasized that while the Ethiopian federal government has exercised patience regarding these provocations, if the TPLF falls into the "Eritrean trap" and attacks federal forces, it could spark a widespread conflict. He urged the international community to apply strong pressure on Eritrea to prevent further regional instability.
