Ato Gebreamlak Ye'ebiyo Appointed as Tigray Regional High Court President

Ato Gebreamlak Ye'ebiyo has been appointed as the President of the Tigray Regional High Court by the region's trustee administration, effective from October 24, 2019 E.C. Ato Gebreamlak previously served as the vice president of the region's interim administration under Getachew Reda. However, he resigned from his position alongside president Tsegaye Berhane in March 2017 E.C., citing political interference in the judiciary after Lt. Gen. Tadesse Werede took over the leadership of the interim administration. He has now been re-appointed to lead the High Court under the current trustee administration.
