Reports emerge of civilian deaths from drone strikes in Amhara and Tigray regions
TPLF and the Amhara Fano National Movement have separately reported that alleged federal government drone strikes in the Amhara and Tigray regions are causing civilian casualties. The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that drone attacks on internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in both regions have resulted in the deaths of civilians, including infants.
TPLF accused the federal government of indiscriminate attacks against both combatants and civilians using heavy artillery and drones. The Amhara Fano group listed locations in the South Gondar and South Wollo zones where they claim similar drone strikes have killed many people. The federal government and the Ethiopian National Defense Force have not yet issued any response regarding these allegations.
